Carl Jung equated nature with the unconscious. It implies pagan mysticism, which is inconsistent with Jung’s impressive insight. There is however a similarity in terms of our relationship to both: ignore them and they talk more violently. Maybe as we walk in nature there’s a hidden and healing dialogue between the two, which is why it’s soothing and restorative. That makes sense.
