Sometimes when you take a photograph you don’t realise how successful it will be. I snapped this without a great deal of thought but with instant recognition it was a good composition. What I didn’t fully appreciate is how the quality of light is so beautiful. There’s always a perceptual gap between what you see in the moment and how that will reproduce photographically. When the gap is substantial your photography is impaired. But there’s always a slight gap which in this instance concerned the subtleties of colour and light.
