It’s worth revisiting a back catalogue of photographs for overlooked shots. Five years later, I like this one quite a lot. It doesn’t have drama, impact or strong colour but my photographic tastes have changed – or rather expanded – and I now enjoy subtlety as much as big mountain outlooks. The Peak District is a fine place for subtlety. It’s quite a difficult place for drama. Landscapes have different characters and it’s very satisfying to understand this and apply it in terms of photographic practice.
