When I walk the Peak District I find it very “photographic.” Not in a superior sense, but a different sense. It’s not photogenic like the Pyrenees, Scotland, Lake District, or Snowdonia. The photogenic qualities are different and more simple. You don’t have soaring peak, panoramic drama, or formidable rocky height. It’s more subtle. I’m not suggesting I prefer the Peak District to those other places because I don’t. I do enjoy however, a more leisurely walk with big skies and moors where undulating shape, colour and texture are the main interest.
