I’m primarily a hill and mountain photographer. For a few years now I’ve supplemented this with wild flower photography. On my walking and camping trips and I’m not always in the hills and you find lovely micro scenery in country lanes. As with the mountains I photograph what I enjoy and I’m fond of wild flowers.
This was May 2016. I spent a few hours driving around roads near Betws-y-Coed for views like this. There’s a lovely aesthetic to wild flowers and how and where they grow. They’re as beautiful as any other with tiny delicacy (forget-me-nots) stately exoticism (orchids) and colourful profusion as you see here. They do it by themselves. That’s why I find them conceptually attractive, if I might put it that way.
