Paths are a memory across the land. Most pleasant are those which gently exist as walked down grass, or a variation in colour across rock otherwise indiscernible. This path at Edale starts in the little village, goes up a cobbled tree covered track, then opens out on the hillside leading up to Kinder Scout if you wish or, as here, leading along and then down into the head of the valley. It’s a pretty walk I’ve only completed once; I’ve always wanted to get up onto the moorland.
