Some years ago I realised Striding Edge in the Lake District had stunning photographic potential. I have quite a large collection of Lake District books, and not one of them does justice to this famous knife edge ridge. I made a trip there in early autumn and spent some time wandering the ridge waiting for dramatic light. All things considered it is very often the quality of light which makes the difference between an average photograph and an impressive photograph.
