I stopped when I saw this pool area, attracted to the lovely red grass and deep blue of the reflected sky. The light was low, which is what you want to enhance shadow, details and colour. I stayed here about ten minutes rapidly exploring different angles and compositions, because the sun was dropping behind cloud. I got some other pleasing shots but I think this first one – as I often find – is the most effective. It was an instinctive response, not calculated.
