I don’t often crop a photograph like this, changing the standard dimensions into a panoramic format. There are occasions however where doing so creates an appealing image, which I otherwise might overlook. Changing the shape of an image – the art of cropping or possibly using a specialist camera – is an important part of photography. This view is towards St Sunday Crag, the valley below is Grizedale, and the distant skyline shows the hills above Martindale which is on the far side of Ullswater.
