I’m looking at this shot pining for long, warm, summer days. Sweat on my face. A setting sun. Tent pitched ready to sleep in and a cold shower wash in a tarn. Feet throbbing after a day’s pounding. A warm drink made with a little meths stove. Silence. Then more silence. The Buttermere valley is possibly the most idyllic in the Lake District. In fact I took this shot five years ago at the beginning of autumn. But it was a good autumn, summer-like.
