I took lots of photographs here, on the lovely climb up to Whin Rigg and Illgill Head. This is not my usual style. I’m inclined towards drama and strong graphics whereas this shot is quite subtle. There’s a lovely two or three day circuit around the Wasdale valley, but a wild camp in this area is quite difficult. You could pitch high on the ridge for wonderful views but it’s extremely exposed and you often get ferocious winds funnelling down from Great Gable, which you see here on the right.
