I’m constantly surprised how few people invest time and energy to photograph the Lake District. I’ve only seen it once, comparable to my endeavours, many years ago at Styhead Tarn. He was a policeman and we both stopped to photograph a snow and ice view on a wintry day. There are plenty of gift books and postcards at Lake District tourist shops but I have hundreds of photographs, and I’m constantly finding more, which I’ve never seen published. This one for example, across Buttermere to Red Pike and High Stile. I’ve never seen this view in any book or postcard.
