Monochrome this time. When you convert deep blue skies to black and white they become black. This is one reason why it’s a powerful and useful medium and there’s a long tradition whereby it’s accepted as an aesthetic representation, not artifice. Ansel Adams for example made extensive use of black space. I wonder, if we did this in Photoshop today, without the tradition of film photography, if it would be accepted so readily. As such, we can say that film photography defined the medium which is now predominantly digital.
