The previous day I’d walked up Red Screes and along the distant skyline hills. This was a rest day when I lazed on the camp site, bought supplies at the Glenridding shops, drove around a little and wandered this area which starts near Aira Force and climbs gently up the hillside to Dockray. It’s one of the pleasure of the Lake District, more than anywhere I know, where the low valleys are so lovely. The views are different looking up the hills not the reverse, but are well worth exploring.
