Less is more, as the saying goes. It’s a different kind of photography when you compose for the square format: more concentrated, more selective, more contained when you compare this to a horizontal size of two by three or similar. That’s the Scafells on the right. From a distance, Great Gable (left) has a distinctive summit shape. Not very attractive actually, compared to the pyramid beauty of the hill which is how it’s usually depicted.
