When I arrived at Hourquette d’Ossau conditions were clear. The Lac de Gaube valley was covered in cloud, the Oulettes de Gaube refuge too, but that was in the distance and I was walking away from it. Down the other side to the Ossoue valley it was clear. As I climbed Le Petit Vignemale cloud thickened and enveloped everything. Visibility was reduced to ten metres. I didn’t see much at the top although I did in 2009. I stood here for around fifteen minutes waiting for the best light. I couldn’t stay longer because of plans for the day and conditions were deteriorating. In those fifteen minutes I got the best photographs of this walk.
