This area is below Moelfre. You see the beginning slopes of Y Lethr on the skyline which leads to Rhinog Fach. It’s a wonderful place. That’s partly about the location, with big hills in the distance and the sea in the other direction. Partly too about the rocks, boulders, flowers, grasses and trees and how they are concentrated here. It’s like walking around an expensive and carefully cultivated garden. At the same time however, it’s obviously and marvelously wild. It’s one of my favourite low parts of Snowdonia. Another is the slopes above Beddgelert leading to Llyn Edno. In fact anywhere along the Nant Gwynant valley leading up to the hills. There’s a large rock I like to stand on every time I come here. It may be this one. I’m not sure.
