The views from Maiden Moor are some of the best in the Lake District. Not quite the best, but this outlook across to Newlands Valley and Causey Pike is very fine. There’s a great concentration of beauty in the Lake District. You can spend a few hours wandering the Newlands Valley alone, which is below here to the right. It’s a quiet area and a good escape if you’re at Borrowdale or Derwentwater, Keswick even more so, on a busy summer weekend. The colours and shapes there are exquisite in good afternoon light.
