The forecast was foreboding with flood warnings and storms. No one knew where exactly it would occur or when. Possibly Wales, possibly not. In the morning the BBC said a storm here. Around midday this changed and the threat had gone. I wasn’t sure. There was a little sunshine but also brooding skies and short showers.

I like this part of Snowdonia. Few people come here, aiming instead for the hugely popular Snowdon and perhaps the hills around Llanberis. You can get to Snowdon from this area, climbing from Rhyd Ddu, or climb the other side to Y Garn and the Nantlle Ridge.

I saw a few people in the valley but none up here.
