Fog
I was walking in Corsica once, and a woman asked me what the difference was between mist and fog. She was French, fluent in English, but wasn’t sure about the two different words. I wasn’t sure either. I pointed to distant mountain areas and said, correctly, that’s fog and that is mist. I thought there might be a scientific meaning so didn’t feel sure. But the only difference is thickness. Thick fog, in the right place, is very photogenic and I enjoy the pictures.
